Manchester Recreation Center Closed - September 16 - 22
The Manchester Recreation Center will be closed September 16 - 22 for our annual maintenance week. We will reopen on Monday, September 23 at 5:00 am. Group fitness classes will be held at the Ada Wright Center in Fred Deadman Park. See the Group Fitness Schedule for classes offered during September 16 - 22.
Free Concerts in the Park
September 20 - Rubiks Groove at Rotary Park Amphitheater from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Friday Night Fifth Quarter
October 11 and October 25 - After home football game to Midnight
The Fifth Quarter is an after party hosted by area churches and the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department after home varsity football games (excluding the homecoming game). We invite all CCHS and CCRA students to join us. The event will host volleyball, basketball, racquetball, and other games. Best of all there is free food. Parents this is a chaperoned event.
Thank you to First Presbyterian Church, Canvas Community Church, First Baptist Church, Forest Mill Church of Christ, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for hosting the Fifth Quarter.
Amazing Family Night
Load the family up and join us for Amazing Family Night on September 13. This event is free to the public. We will open the facility at 7:00 pm. The outdoor pool, indoor track, racquetball courts, and basketball courts will be open. There will be a healthy meal served after a short speech from the event's sponsor, Manchester City Schools Coordinated School Health. Family night ends at 9:00 pm.
Dusty Elam Registration
Registration is from September 13 - October 14 fro children in Kindergarten - 3rd grade. Cost is $55.00 for non-members of the Manchester Recreation Center and $49.50 for members.
Fall Break Day Camp
Day Camp will be available September 30 - October 4 from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm for children in Kindergarten - 12 years old. Campers will swim daily, spend time in the teaching kitchen, play organized games, and be provided a snack. Campers will need to supply their own lunch. The cost is $60.00 per camper.
Fall Break Extended Pool Hours
The indoor pool will be open extended hours for open swim from September 30 - October 4 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Join us on October 18 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm in Rotary Park for our Hay-Fever Harvest. There will be a hay maze, pumpkin smashing, cornhole, and the GaGa Pit. The event is free to everyone.
October 18 from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am we are hosting a lock-in for children ages 5 - 12 years old. Drop off is at 7:00 am and pick up is 7:00 am. Snacks will be provided. Kids will swim in the indoor pool and get to participate in the Hay-Fever Harvest activities.
Bike Ride Group
Meeting every Wednesday at 9am. Love to ride your bike? Looking for a group to ride with? Join us every Wednesday for a 15-20-25-mile morning ride. This group will ride at a noncompetitive pace. (13-15 mph) Please join our Facebook group at MRD Bike Ride Group for updates, meeting locations, and extra ride days. This is a great way for beginners to gain experience. Experienced riders are also encouraged to join. Riding with your peers is always more fun! Saturday Morning group rides in June Will be 7am from the rec Center Parking lot. Children's After School Program
The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department offers a Children's After-school Program (C.A.P.) that operates Monday through Friday 3:05 pm - 6:00 pm through the school year. C.A.P. children will get to use the Recreation Center and indoor pool, play outside, have a healthy snack daily, and special activities. The department transports children from City Schools to the recreation complex with via bus. This is not a drop in program, children must be registered per week and the cost is $40.00 per week regardless of how many days you attend that week. Children who do not attend Manchester City Schools are welcome to participate but must provide their own transportation to the recreation center. For more information, call us at 931-728-0273.
Join the Teen Council of the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department. This group is for teens in the 9th to 12th grade who want to make a difference in their community. It is a leadership building group that brings teens from diverse backgrounds and interests together to help the Recreation Department put together teen programs and activities. They also assist the Recreation Department in some of our programs.

Adult and Master Swim Classes
The Adult Master Swim program is for anyone 18 or older who wants to improve their swimming techniques, learn the correct strokes, build swimming endurance, and just hang out with fellow swimmers. The instructors work with all abilities.
Fee: $5.00 per class
Equipment: Goggles are recommended and participants are recommended to purchase swim fins, caps, and swim paddles.
Class Time: Monday/Wednesday at 5:00 pm(for beginners) and 6:00 pm(for advanced swimmers).
Sign up for after school fun with our outdoor club. This club meets Monday and Thursday afternoons. Transportation from city schools is provided. Children ages 10-15. This is a free program. Kids will learn outdoor skills and enjoy hiking, swimming, and kayaking. Saturday trips will be offered with camping and fishing. This is a free program. Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike club
Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike Club is a free bike program held every Tuesday and Friday at the Manchester Recreation Center from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Manchester School of Dance
If your child is looking for a fun activity or to learn serious dance techniques, then Manchester School of Dance is where they need to be! Manchester School of Dance offers a complete program for young dancers through high school age students. We offer a fun and learning experience of creativity. The dance year is a ten month program, running August through May. Classes offered are Mommy and Me (Ages 12 months to 2 years old), Beginning Combo (Ages 3 to 5 years old), Level 2 & 3 Combo (Ages 6 to 17 years old), and Jazz Class (Ages 5 to 17 years old). Tennessee Cheerleading and Gymnastics
Classes are a combination of tumbling, cheerleading, and physical fitness. Classes are available year round for children ages 4 and up. Classes are held at the Manchester Recreation Center in the gym. Classes are one hour in length and are held one day per week on Thursday.
Free to anyone with a membership on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday.
