The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department offers special events throughout out the year for all ages and abilities. We have events for the athletic minded: races from 5k, 10k, and 20k team relays, bike rides, mini triathlons, swim meets, basketball tournaments, and ball tournaments. Holiday fun is always available with our Boo Run Run Haunted 5k, Egg Hunts, Underwater Egg Hunt, July 4th, and Labor Day Luau. Our Parkpalooza is our annual event celebrating our park facilities and programs held on Memorial Day. So check our special events page often to see what is coming soon to our parks and recreation facilities.   • Christmas Luncheon
    • The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department invites you to their annual Christmas Luncheon.  The luncheon will take place on Friday, December 16th starting at 11:30 am at the Ada Wright Building in Fred Deadman Park.  Attendees are asked to sign up at the front desk of the Manchester Recreation Complex and indicate which side or dessert they will be bringing.  The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will supply the ham.  Come join us for food and fellowship.

  • Senior Christmas Trip
    • Are you thinking about Christmas shopping yet?  On Thursday, December 8th, get in the holiday spirit with us as we take a road trip to shop, eat, and see The Dancing Lights of Christmas.  We will be leaving the Manchester Recreation Complex at 11:00 am for our first stop at the Cheesecake Factory at the Mall at Green Hills.  Then we will continue on our merry way to Opry Mills Mall to do some shopping.  Our last stop for the day will be at Jellystone Park to see The Dancing Lights of Christmas.  Cost to participate is $20.00 which includes transportation and admission to The Dancing Lights of Christmas, lunch is dutch treat.  To register for the trip, please visit the Manchester Recreation Complex or register online.

  • Christmas Luncheon
    • A Christmas Luncheon will be held at the Ada Wright Building on Friday, December 16, 2016.  The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will provide the main course.  All you have to bring is a side dish or dessert.  Please, signup at the front desk of the Manchester Recreation Center.
  • Swim to Santa Swim Challenge
    • Can't wait to see the jolly elf? Well, take a swim with us to the North Pole to see him. From December 12th to January 16th we will be hosting a Swim to Santa Challenge. For every one lap that you swim, you will move 10 miles on our map. The total distance to swim is 3,300 miles (330 laps) which equals to 10 laps per day. Come on! You know you can do it! Prizes will be awarded along the way. The deadline to register is December 5th. Registration fee is only $10.00
  • Parents' Night Out
º Do you have some last minute Christmas shopping to do and no one to watch the kids?  Well, no problem!  Let the kids spend the evening with us at the Manchester Recreation Complex enjoying games and swimming.  We will be hosting a Parents’ Night Out on Saturday, December 17th from 5:00 pm to midnight for children ages 5 to 12 years old.  The cost is $15.00 per child, which includes dinner and a snack.  To register for Parents’ Night Out, please visit the Manchester Recreation Complex or register online.  Deadline to register is Wednesday, December 14th.
