Dog Park Naming Contest
Manchester pooches, and their owners, are wagging their tails in excitement over the City’s new off-leash dog park at the Manchester Sports Park. In honor of the occasion, the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a contest to select a name for the new park, where canines will be able to frolic freely. “Walk for the Fallen” Vietnam Veterans Walk
The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is working with the VFW Post 10904 to organize a community walk commemorating the 58,479 lives lost during the Vietnam War. We want to log one lap around the indoor track for every life. Starting January 1, every mile logged will count 12 laps toward the goal of 58,479 laps. You can log these through the Rec Center or through the VFW post. This program will run through March 30 and end with the Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day and Fair at Noon on March 30th at the Coffee County Fairgrounds. Recognition day is to educate, honor, and entertain veterans. There will be speakers, food, memorials, displays, and music to fill the day. Not only will you be walking for your health, you will be walking to show your support for those who are often overlooked. Adult Coed Volleyball League
Ready to get on the gym floor and show off your volleyball skills and get some fun exercise? Signups for Adult Coed Volleyball League will be Jan. 2 through Feb. 4 at the Manchester Recreation Center. League is for ages 16 and up and cost is $200 per team. There are 8 games guaranteed on Monday nights from Feb. 18 through April 18. Format is six vs. six and there is a two female minimum. Registration will close once eight teams are accepted. Pickleball is a game resembling tennis in which players use paddles to hit a perforated plastic ball over a net. Games will be held in the gym of the Manchester Recreation Center 9:00 am - Noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting January 15. Games are free for members. Amazing Family Night
Come enjoy a FREE night with your family at the Manchester Recreation Center from 7 pm - 9 pm January 18. You can use the track, youth play room, indoor pool and basketball courts! There will be healthy snacks available and sponsor American Red Cross will be present.
All children ages 5 - 12 are invited to a fun lock-in at the Manchester Recreation Complex from 7 pm to 7 am, beginning Friday night, January 25. There will be games, basketball and racquetball courts, the youth wellness room will be open, and swim time in the indoor pool! There will be a movie after lights out and a snack will be provided after swim time. Cost is $25 per child and preregistration is advised. Indoor Soccer Signups
Winter indoor soccer for the Coffee County Soccer League is here and registration is now open! Games will start Sunday, January 27 at the Manchester Recreation Center. Games will be played on Sundays from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Manchester Recreation Center for six weeks with no practices during the week. Age groups are U6, U8, U10, and U12 and are co-ed. Fee is $20.00 per player.

Manchester Youth Baseball League, Manchester Girls Slow Pitch League, and Coffee County Fast Pitch Association are hosting signups starting January 26 at the Ada Wright Building in Fred Deadman Park. Signups will be held during the following times.
• January 26 9 am - 2 pm
• February 2 9 am - 2 pm
• February 9 9 am - 2 pm
• February 23 9 am - 2 pm
• February 5 5 pm - 8 pm (Manchester Youth Baseball League - Only)

Lifeguard Certification Course
A lifeguard certification class will be held from February 18 - March 2. Classes will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm and on Saturday, March 2 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Participants must be at least 15 years old and able to pass the prerequisites before continuing the class. The cost for the certification course is $145.00. Children's After School Program
The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department offers a Children’s After-school Program (C.A.P.) that operates Monday through Friday 3:05 pm - 6:00 pm through the school year. C.A.P. children will get to use the Recreation Center and indoor pool, play outside, have a healthy snack daily, and special activities. The department transports children from City Schools to the recreation complex with via bus. This is not a drop in program, children must be registered per week and the cost is $35.00 per week regardless of how many days you attend that week. Children who do not attend Manchester City Schools are welcome to participate but must provide their own transportation to the recreation center. For more information, call us at 931-728-0273.
Join the Teen Council of the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department. This group is for teens in the 9th - 12th grade who want to make a difference in their community. It is a leadership building group that brings teens from diverse backgrounds and interests together to help the Recreation Department put together teen programs and activities. They also assist the Recreation Department in some of our programs.

Adult and Master Swim Classes
The Adult Master Swim program is for anyone 18 or older who wants to improve their swimming techniques, learn the correct strokes, build swimming endurance, and just hang out with fellow swimmers. The instructors work with all abilities.
Class Time: Monday/Wednesday at 5:00 pm (for beginners) and 6:00 pm (for advanced swimmers)
Fee: $5.00 per class
Equipment: Goggles are recommended and participants are recommended to purchase swim fins, caps, and swim paddles.
Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike club
Mud, Sweat, and Gears Bike Club is a free bike program held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Manchester Recreation Center from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Manchester School of Dance
If your child is looking for a fun activity or to learn serious dance techniques, then Manchester School of Dance is where they need to be! Manchester School of Dance offers a complete program for young dancers through high school age students. We offer a fun and learning experience of creativity. The dance year is a ten month program, running August through May. Classes offered are Mommy and Me (Ages 12 months – 2 years old), Beginning Combo (Ages 3 – 5 years old), Level 2 & 3 Combo (Ages 6 – 17 years old), and Jazz Class (Ages 5 – 17 years old). Tennessee Cheerleading and Gymnastics
Classes are a combination of tumbling, cheerleading, and physical fitness. Classes are available year round for children ages 4 and up. Classes are held at the Manchester Recreation Center in the gym. Classes are one hour in length and are held one day per week on Thursday.
Free to anyone with a membership on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday.
